I apologise for not having done the work I promised to do on these pages. I have a bad habit of taking on too many web site projects and then not maintaining them adequately. I have also been having problems recently with my Internet connection. I hope that I will shortly be back on track!

I am currently updating the site. Please check the new pages as they are published.

Jamaica has a long tradition of involvement with classical music, which is as strong to-day as it ever was.

Many of Jamaica's classical musicians have achieved an international reputation and this site will concentrate initially on them. There will also be some emphasis on those who have pursued their careers chiefly in Jamaica.

On this site I will try to give information about some of our classical musicians. I shall start with those I am most familiar with, but I hope gradually to include more and more of them. I shall be grateful for any information any visitor to the site can give me, about those I have already included, and of those I have so far omitted.

I need to point out that my interest in this project is chiefly that of an historian, so I apologize for any errors in the musical field. I hope those who are more knowledgeable in such matters will e-mail me the necessary corrections.
